Candy

Candy

Candy is a southern girl who enjoys the simple things in life. Dirt road drivin’, Sunday afternoon nappin’, back yard swingin’, and sunset watchin’ are a few of the things that make her smile. She’s been married to her best friend and the love of her life for almost 25 years and is navigating motherhood with her 4 children, aged 23, 19, 14, & 11. Homeschooling for over 18 years now, she is also a bit of a word-nerd (ok, maybe more than a “bit” – she actually considers making lists of homophones to be entertaining), a lover of books and chocolate, a survivor of cancer, an author, and a hula hoop maker.

It was a lovely, spring day, the temps were steadily rising, and our pool was beckoning… While it may have been a little too cool to swim, however, my daughter and I decided it was not to early to start getting our swimming “wardrobe” ready!

Dr. Seuss baby showers seem to be all the rage right now, and March is a great time for them, as the very first day of the month is Theodor Seuss Geisel’s birthday! But it was no surprise when my book-lovin’ niece requested that theme for her baby shower. What was a surprise, however, was the […]

I’m “vertically-challenged,” so for years I’ve had a hard time buying jeans!  Argh – it’s SO very difficult getting the waist AND the length to fit.  So of course I’d pick the waist to fit…but then finding someone to hem them so they didn’t look like, um, well, “mom” did it…. I’m sure there’s someone out […]

I’ve been cutting back my use of cleaners that are made with harmful chemicals and I have to say that I’m pretty proud of myself. Homemade toilet, floor, glass, and now shower cleaners!
