If you liked our make-it-yourself coffee exfoliating scrub, you’re gonna flip over this easy-to-make, pamper-yourself recipe! It combines a couple of my favorite elements: simple and all-natural. Bonus points because it’s made with ingredients that most of us already have in our kitchen…no special shopping trips or “waiting until next week” to give it a try.
Brown Sugar Body Scrub
1 cup of brown sugar (you can even make your own!)
1 cup of coconut oil
1 Tbsp of honey
Mix everything in a bowl.
If you wanna get all fancy you can stick it in a pretty jar and wrap a ribbon around it. Maybe you could even give it to someone you love. Now, wouldn’t that be thoughtful?
Notes and variations
You can omit the honey if you don’t have any. Honey’s great for your skin, but the scrub’ll be just fine without it.
Add a bit of Vitamin E oil for you want a little extra nourishment.
Add a ½ tsp of real vanilla extract for a yummy scent. Mmmmm!
Your coconut oil can be softened, if needed, by placing the jar in a sink of warm water for a few minutes. (Make sure the lid’s on tight!) Don’t worry if it gets too liquid-y, it’ll just mix easier and then get more solid after it sits for a while.
A few drops of peppermint essential oil can be added give your scrub an energizing scent.
Or add lavender oil for a scrub that you can use after a long day…Super relaxing!
Follow up with some homemade body butter and you’ll feel scrumptious!
