Coffee and Conversation Link Party #26

Welcome to Coffee and Conversation! Grab yourself a cup and stick around a while. Don’t link and run…Be encouraged and inspired by all the amazing bloggers who link up each week.

The About Page link party was a huge success! The sense of community was amazing. We’ll be hosting another one soon so be on the look out for that.

And, if you have time today I’d love for you to visit and follow a new Pinterest account that’s been started for the Feingold Assocation (FG). In case you aren’t familiar with FG, it’s a non-profit organization started in 1976 that helps families of children who struggle with behavioral, learning, and health issues.

FG has been SUCH an indescribably, huge blessing for our family…Following the program has helped one of our children overcome sensory processing, impulse control, and behavioral  issues, tics, and ADHD. Another child has seen the elimination of migraine headaches whose source had his doctors stumped.

I’d really love to get the word out so other families seeking drug-free help for their children can find it. If you’re interested in placing an FG button on your side bar or a banner in a post that you’ve done on clean eating and the like, please contact me and I’ll be glad to provide one for you.

On to last week’s Coffee and Conversation features…

Candy

Candy is a southern girl who enjoys the simple things in life. Dirt road drivin’, Sunday afternoon nappin’, back yard swingin’, and sunset watchin’ are a few of the things that make her smile. She’s been married to her best friend and the love of her life for almost 25 years and is navigating motherhood with her 4 children, aged 23, 19, 14, & 11. Homeschooling for over 18 years now, she is also a bit of a word-nerd (ok, maybe more than a “bit” – she actually considers making lists of homophones to be entertaining), a lover of books and chocolate, a survivor of cancer, an author, and a hula hoop maker.

I love coming here every Wednesday for my morning coffee. The team/marriage post really resonated with me. After overcoming an alcohol addiction (dh’s), my dh and I have been struggling a bit to rebuild our relationship. A few months ago, I asked him what he wanted and he emailed me this amazing positive list of what he wanted from me and our relationship. I threw away the negative list I had written and responded in a positive manner.

Things are better, and yes we continue to work on stuff. Reading the post reminded me I should pull out my dh’s list monthly and make sure I’m doing what he asked me to do.

Wow, Barb, thank you for being so real! I’m glad the post was helpful, but also glad to hear that you and dh are sticking with it and working things out.

Sometimes I forget that same thing. I remember how powerful it was for me when I first heard that analogy. I hadn’t even realized I was thinking he was on the “other” team! 🙁

So glad that we can learn from each other, and really appreciative when folks take the time to share what they’ve learned to help others… Everyone benefits!

We appreciate your presence on Wednesdays (and always!)…and be assured you’re in our prayers! <3
