Coffee and Conversation #145 – Happy Mother’s Day!

Good morning and welcome to Coffee and Conversation #145!

Happy Mother's Day to you all! Feel free to spoil mom with some of these yummy meals - whether or not you decide to go out to eat!

Whatcha doing this weekend?

It’s Mother’s Day, ya’ know…

And so I’m hoping that whether or not you’re a mother, you’ll find some mother to love on and spoil this weekend!

I really enjoyed looking through the posts that were shared last week ~

Although it wasn’t a feature per se, I found Shannon’s “7 Ways to Honor Your Mother-in-law” (from OfTheHearth) a special read, and her tips are applicable to your own mom or a mother-figure in your life. It’s really hard to go wrong showing honor and/or deference to a woman who has influenced you and/or helped you along your own journey…

Also, these “7 Simple Sanity Check Ideas for Busy Moms” that Sara Elizabeth shares in AMamma’sStory are essential! Take them to heart for yourself, or share them to encourage someone else who may need them. While I continue to work on #4 and #6, I know from experience that none of them will really work well without #7 coming into play.

We’re soon heading off as a family to a much-needed time at the beach next week. I’ll gladly forego celebrating Mother’s Day this Sunday knowing I’ll be at my “happy place” for a few days following 😉

Wherever you are…whatever you’re doing…however you’re enjoying it…wishing you a happy, happy Mother’s Day, too!

Now, on to our features!

Mother's Day brunch recipes from Marilyn's Treats

I don’t know about you, but I don’t really enjoy going out to eat on Mother’s Day – I hate waiting in line! So…Marilyn serves up some yummy recipes here for those who love you and may not have bought you a gift…to whip up! (wink wink!)

Seven quick and easy family meal plans, from Tastefully Eclectic!

Hey, Chelsea has re-branded and re-designed her blog, so do check it out! I, however, checked this post out because I need some quick-and-easy meal ideas for our beach trip. ‘Cause guess who is NOT planning on moving off the shore often enough to be feeding the hungry masses??

Slow cooker salisbury steak recipe from Olla-Podrida

Upon discovering this post, I added my crock pot to the packing list…

The best ever yummy grape salad, from Chelsea at Tastefully Eclectic.

It’s not often we feature two posts from the same blog, but…well, I recently ate enjoyed savored this grape salad, but failed to get the recipe from my friend! Haha – now this, too, will end up on the table next week! Yay!!

Thank you all so much for your inspiration and timely words…

Please feel free to grab our button for your site and brag about your feature!

Thanks so much for the feature. 🙂 I’ve been tending to a sick little one, so feeling a little bleary-eyed this morning. I just broke out the peppermint oil and came on for some downtime. You made my morning, sleep deprivation and all! <3 You're doing an awesome job hosting.

Thanks for mentioning my post on honoring your mother-in-law! Based on the conversation it has generated, I’m guessing this is a topic we can all benefit from discussing more…and taking more action on.
