Many years ago I tried the spend-a-weekend-shopping-and-cooking plan that was supposed to keep my family freezer stocked with a month or so full of meal options. I gave it the ol’ college try, but I ended up exhausted, with a whole weekend blown in the kitchen, and then discovered that the kiddos didn’t enjoy half of what I’d slaved over! Bummer, to say the least.
A few years later, I discovered Erin Chase’s $5 Dollar Meal Plan program, and really enjoyed it: it was do-able, didn’t require a whole bunch of time (unless I wanted it to…), and an extra treat was that I was actually able to shop sales for the recipes and save some money in the process. And that always makes me smile!
But a few days ago I got an invite in my email to a “Make-One-Freeze-One” challenge that she was sponsoring. Knowing my past experience with her “stuff”, I’m gonna give it a try.
I know it’s kinda last minute, but I’m inviting you to join me, too!
The Challenge is 100% free, and only lasts a week…so really – why not?!
MyFreezeEasy is a program where the goal is to help members create their own meal plans so they can make 10 to 12 meals for their freezer in less than one hour. It takes a specific type or style of recipe and meal to make that happen and Erin has designed pre-set meal plans with that goal in mind. She wants you to be able to get 10 meals into your freezer without spending all afternoon in the kitchen. #mynewbestfriend
So to get started, all you do is register here, download your recipes (I’m doing the slow cooker series), shop for the ingredients, and be ready to cook-and-freeze, starting Monday, October 24. She’s even set up a Facebook group that you’ll be invited to when you join, where you can ask questions and share ideas with other participants (or learn from them!).
Get your recipes and shopping done this week, and then we can all cook together during the challenge next week.
It’ll be like having a friend in the kitchen with you, which always makes it more fun, dontcha think?
