Coffee and Conversation Link Party #54

Good Morning and welcome to Coffee and Conversation #54!

We’re announcing a new little “tweak” 🙂
Coffee and Conversation

When Candy and I started Coffee and Conversation, we had a few goals in mind:

  • Introduce our readers to fantastic new content
  • Give a boost to other bloggers by enlarging their reach
  • Create a community of readers and bloggers who share, encourage, and inspire each other

I’d say so far we’ve done pretty well on the first bullet point, but I’d like to see us improve on the other two…

With that in mind, we’re embarking on a little link party experiment ~

Beginning next week, and for a few weeks thereafter, we’ll be limiting our party to the first 100 bloggers who show up!

Now before you go thinking we’re being “party-poopers,” let me explain.

We’ve been on some parties with a gajillion links, and some of our parties have been very well-attended as well…but when that happens on a consistent basis, people stop visiting your blog!  Readers don’t swing by because they’re too over-whelmed with the amount of content available, and other bloggers don’t for basically the same reason 🙁

I mean, it’s hard enough just searching out, keeping track of and getting to link parties daily and “on time,” right?

So for those who get to the party, here’s what we offer:

  • Promotion of our party on FB and Twitter – to remind old friends to come over and invite new friends in…
  • Promotion of all attendees on Pinterest. Yes, we will share all 100 posts on Pinterest*!
  • Promotion of our weekly featured posts on FB and our “Best of Coffee and Conversation” Pinterest board…

(* Assuming that the 100 shared posts have a Pinterest-friendly graphic.  Please bear in mind that we may not be able to share blog posts that don’t have a pinnable graphic, but we’ll do our best!)

I hope that all makes sense, but if it doesn’t, please feel free to shoot us an email or leave a question in the comments, and we’ll do our best to address it, ok?!

Now, on to our features!

Not only will our features this week help those of you in the throes of back-to-school, but if you’re feeling a little flat as the summer winds down and fall is on the horizon, you may find a little inspiration here, too!

What Is God Preparing You For?

Brandy presents a really important question to ask yourself as we start a new (school) year…or anytime we don’t understand or can’t seem to make sense of what’s going on around us…

I’ll Do It Tomorrow

Bad habits are SO hard to break!  I should know – I have too many that I’ve been working on over the years. After I reviewed the book “The Art of Procrastination”, I’d been convicted to get creative with my attitude and attack on that particular “issue”. Laina just put the whole thing back on my radar 😉

26 Easy Breakfast Smoothies

Listen, I know, even if when we’re “ready” for the new day, we’re not always ready for the new day, right? So why not make it easy on yourself and make breakfast a no-brainer?  You already know that we’re a big fan of smoothies over at our house. They allow me the kids to sleep in a tad longer, and still let us start the day with good nutrition and happy smiles.  Well, at least as happy as you can get if you’re not a morning person…

20 Recipes for Amazing Coffee at Home

Mamas, you know how important it is to carve out some “me time”.  Daily if you can get it, but at least as often as you’re able!  Well, the budget may not always allow you to hang out with friends to a fancy-shmanzy coffee house, but why don’t you call someone up and invite her over to your kitchen or back porch?  You’re sure to find something nice to serve here 😉

Thank you all for your inspiration!  Please feel free to grab a button to brag about it display on your site! 😉

Mom's Morning Coffee

Now on to the party!

But, first…

By linking up, you’re confirming that you’ve read and agree to the following…

  • Link up family friendly posts that support our site’s mission of encouraging, inspiring & informing women. Think: marriage, parenting, recipes, DIY, saving money, faith-building, etc. (Serious business…Link up vulgarity and it’ll be deleted.)

  • Visit at least 2 other links. That’s what makes this a par-tay! Plus, it’s kinda the polite thing to do.

  • Linking up gives us permission to use and share your photos and blog posts (giving credit to you, of course!).

  • Share posts with good quality, pinnable images and be sure to link back to us in your post or on your blog. You can use the Coffee & Conversation button above or a text link. Your chances of being featured will greatly increase.

  • We’d love for you to “follow” us in some way.  FacebookTwitterPinterestGoogle+… and we promise to follow you back 😉

I would love to add a link, but for some reason it’s stuck on “loading InLinkz…” Maybe something goofy with my internet? Anyway, I’ll keep trying!

    • Pat August 14, 2015 at 5:11 pm #

Oh, Kym, I’m sorry about that. I just went and checked the link and it should be good to go! I hope you’ll try again 🙂
Love your coffee-related (!) blog…and good luck on Monday!

Thanks for featuring me gals! Here’s to a new and exciting school year and all that God has on the horizon for us. We may not know what lies ahead, but we do know He’s already there and that’s a great comfort!

And I like your idea of limiting the party. Makes a ton of sense…now I just have to make sure my reminders to join the party are up to speed so I don’t miss out!

    • Pat August 14, 2015 at 8:37 am #

Our pleasure, Brandy! I’m super jazzed about this year! 🙂
We thought that since Candy and I are both gonna be so slammed, when the party gets too big we won’t be able to “share” everyone’s posts and make it worth-your-while! So keep your eyes peeled!!

      Have a great weekend!!

  3. Barb August 13, 2015 at 5:38 am #

Thanks for featuring me, ladies! I really need the coffee recipe feature since getting the kids back to school and into a school routine is a super human mom effort!

    • Pat August 13, 2015 at 12:38 pm #

Ha! I hear you, Barb! But I’m ever-hopeful this year will be different…LOL
Thanks for sharing and stopping by 😉

  4. Heaven August 12, 2015 at 7:55 pm #

Thank you for the party! It’s my first time here and I’m following you on G+. Have a great week. 🙂

  5. Beth August 12, 2015 at 10:53 am #

I think doing your linkup the way you both want is your right and privilege. I appreciate all the ways you provide us great content each week, so we have no room to complain. Thanks again, Candy and Pat! You’re a great team!

    • Pat August 12, 2015 at 11:32 am #

Aw, Beth…you’re so sweet <3 I know we can't please EVERYone, but there's always room for improvement! (And yeah, we kinda think we're a great team, too!!)

Have a terrific week...see ya' soon!

  6. Mira August 12, 2015 at 10:17 am #

Thanks for the party! Love the smoothies!

    • Pat August 12, 2015 at 11:30 am #

Thanks for stopping by, Mira! Which one do you think will be your new favorite ;-)?

  7. Virginia Knowles August 12, 2015 at 1:46 am #

I just posted several links, so if you need to remove some to make room for others within your 100 limit, feel free! Sorry about that! It just dawned on me! Mine are #2-8 and 12.

    • Pat August 12, 2015 at 6:39 am #

No worries, Virginia! We’re starting that 100 limit thingy next week! Hope you’ll continue to link up with us…I need all the help I can get ‘growing up’ – LOL
As always, thanks for stopping by…and have a terrific day 🙂

  8. Andrew Budek-Schmeisser August 12, 2015 at 12:15 am #

    Those smoothies look GREAT!

And I’m not sure I want to know what God is preparing me for…I’m not ready to go to Heaven quite yet, and certainly would rather not visit the other place…but I shall check it out.

And hey…thanks for having a link to Covenant House, in your ad space. They’re top-notch.

    • Pat August 12, 2015 at 6:43 am #

Yes, Andrew, they sure do, don’t they? Don’t know why I always seem to feature a recipe or two… Hmmm… 😉

And from my perspective, I would have to say that you are smack dab into what He has prepared/is preparing for you. I would not be surprised at ALL to hear how your words touch people’s hearts. Keep using what He has planted in you for others, as you already do… That’s my 2 cents, for whatever it’s worth!

Glad to hear your thoughts on Covenant House! Click through once in a while…I’m sure they’d appreciate the “love”!

Have a great day…stop by again soon!
