Coffee and Conversation Link Party #45

Welcome to “our house”…and the latest Coffee and Conversation!  We’re so glad you’re here…

Coffee and Conversation

While Candy does SUCH a fantastic job hosting our little get togethers, since she gave you a glimpse into her life last week we thought it’d be fun for me to share a bit this week!  How could I turn that offer down?!

Wedding bells are ringing ’round our place!  This past weekend I went dress shopping as mother-of-the-bride with my oldest daughter.  We were accompanied by my mother-in-law and younger daughter, and had a TERRIFIC time!  (AND found ‘the dress!’) The next day we all went to an engagement party thrown for the happy couple by my daughter-in-law, our oldest son’s wife. I am so humbled by God’s grace as our family is growing 🙂  Our children-by-marriage are wonderful, Godly people, and we get along so well with their families as well.  This is not something any of us take for granted, and I am forever grateful that God has blessed me far more than I deserve…

On the “kids at home” front, last week I worked at our church’s first-ever VBS, and had a blast.  ‘Nother blessing – I got to serve alongside my 14-year-old son, who played a super-hero MC to the event – and displayed amazing depth of character and maturity as he led us all in games and prayer.

Makes a momma proud…

But back to the subject at hand, I think I was hungry when I picked this week’s posts…  OK, so it coulda been alot worse…at least these recipes are pretty refreshing and healthy!  But something about the beautiful weather made me think of mint and then fruit and then citrus and coconut (all of which I adore!) and so, well, here they are:

Just take a look at these yummy, I mean, amazing features!

I am trying so VERY hard to drink more water these days, but combining cucumber with basil AND lemon?!  Pour me another glass, please! 🙂

Can I tell you that I was literally drooling when I saw this recipe?  While I apologize for the potential TMI, I sincerely hope I didn’t ruin it for you.  That would be a shame.  These look unbelievable, don’t they?!

While the “lemonade” and the “tiramisu” initially caught my eye, the story behind this recipe was what caught my heart…

The perfect end to a perfect, heck, even a not-quite-so-perfect, day! 🙂

Thanks, Bonnie Lyn! If the weather cooperates next weekend, I hope to try that shrimp, too! Yum!!

That lemonade cake is calling my name — and causing the drool on my keyboard! My daughter got married in December and I pushed it very close finding a MOB dress. I still say God placed a dress at Nordstroms because it was not there when I looked. Weddings are such fun. Everyone told me my daughter and I would fight planning it, but we just had a blessed time planning. Oh how I miss her, but it is a joy to see her begin her own family and make a home.

      Pamela,
Sorry about the drool…I feel your pain 😉
Sounds like your daughter’s wedding was a wonderful experience! I’m hoping for the same; thanks so much for sharing the encouragement!
      “See you” next week!

Hello Pat, I just found your linkup and am thrilled -and now officially hungry too!

May I invite you to join the dance each Friday for the #DanceWithJesus linkup at SusanBMead.com/blog-2?

Hi Pat! I’m used to seeing Candy in this linkup, so it’s nice to meet ya! And thanks for serving up these gems for us. I’m especially intrigued by the Mint Iced Tea with pansies. I love hot mint tea, so it’s time to try it cold and with one of my favorite flowers to boot! Thanks for the linkup, my friend!

    • Pat June 10, 2015 at 11:30 am #

Hi Beth! Glad to meet a “regular” round here 😉 I just love mint, too! And I recently learned that pansies were edible; although I don’t know if I’d actually go that far… They sure make the drink look pretty, tho!

You’re most welcome…and looking forward to seeing you round these parts again!

The food looked lovely! I hope God heals me quick, so I can partake again.

The link I contributed…”Sniper’s Hide”…may not sound quite family-friendly, but it is, and it’s definitely faith-based. I don’t do otherwise.

    • Pat June 10, 2015 at 9:33 am #

I hope so, too, Andrew! And good post, too…thanks for sharing it!
