Coffee and Conversation Link Party #61 and Fall Bucket List 2015

Good Morning and welcome to Coffee and Conversation #61!

Before we get started, I thought we’d welcome in the lovely, cooler weather of fall together…already a week old! Hard to believe the seasons have rolled around to autumn yet once again…  And in keeping with our love of lists, we bring you yet again another fun-and-family-friendly…Fall Bucket List for 2015!

1) Gather some old clothes and stuff the to make a scarecrow for the garden.

2) Set up a tent and go camping as a family in the back yard – hang a sheet and use it as a screen for an outdoor movie!

3) Bake apple chips

4) Make a cornucopia for a Thanksgiving table centerpiece and fill it with scraps of paper with things you’re all thankful for…

5) If you can get some colorful leaves, make these pretty autumn suncatchers.

6) How ’bout Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats?

7) String popcorn and/or cranberries for the Christmas tree (after Christmas, leave the strings outside for the birds or squirrels)…

8) Attend a craft fair

9) Do some serious fall house cleaning together, and then…

10) Hold a yard sale with all the stuff you accumulated!

And please take a peek at our newest board on Pinterest – We <3 Fall! – for more bucket list ideas and free printables!!

Can you add any other fun fall “must-do’s” to our list?!  Share them in the comments below 🙂

Now, on to the party!!

Coffee & Conversation with Pat and Candy!

This week, much as I hate to admit it, I was totally overwhelmed with wedding plans…not mine, of course, but my daughter’s!

And as a result, we have no features 🙁   But to try to make it up to you, I’ll share some pictures of what kept me so busy 🙂

I was honored to be asked to serve as the Matron of Honor (a title I’m still not quite comfortable with), and the occasion was absolutely fantastic!  ‘Course, I’m not too old to be learning, and the last few months of preparation have provided me with ample opportunities to learn – about myself, about my daughter, about letting go with grace…and I’ll be sure to be passing on my revelations to you in the coming weeks and months!

So here are some pictures of the glorious evening…

My silly daughter before the ceremony!

A good friend of hers made both the wedding cake and a gorgeous groom’s cake as a wedding gift

The happy couple! <3

The bouquets were so very unique – the flowers were created entirely of paper from old atlases. The bride and groom both have a taste for travel!

And finally…let’s get the party started!

I must have overlooked the fact that you had a wedding in your life, Pat! Congratulations! My son got married this past June, so I know the overwhelmed feeling followed closely by joy! Your daughter looks absolutely gorgeous and she and her hubby make quite the stunning pair! Thanks also for the linkup, my friend!

Thanks, Beth! Don’t expect anyone to keep up with my life – I can hardly keep up m’self! 😉
They do make a super pair…God truly made them just perfect for each other <3

Have a terrific week...and thanks for sharing with us!
Might have to check back in my archives for something to post over at "your place" today!!

Congratulations, mama of the bride! How wonderful! I am in NO hurry, mind you, but the thought of possibly being the MOB someday for my daughters fills me with a mixture of joy and panic. Like most of the rest of life, not coincidentally! 😉 Also, I LOVE your fall list, being very partial to fall myself. I’m looking forward to finally wresting the “crisp” sheets (so necessary to summer without a/c) off our bed and putting on the uber-soft/fleecy/cozy version that makes getting OUT of bed even harder than it was to begin with. Thank you as always for hosting this lovely party!

Elizabeth, you’re so funny! I feel the same way about my sheets!! LOL
Well, the only advice I can offer – now being on the “other side” of the MOB coin – is not to “think” too much! Just do the next thing…and love on your daughter – which I don’t think you’ll have ANY problem with 🙂
I’m sure you’ll have many fun and sweet and special memories to add to your collection, too!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by…love having you here!

Pat your daughters wedding looks beautiful…

    • Pat September 30, 2015 at 11:31 am #

Thanks, Amanda! I thought so, too, but I realize I *may* be a bit biased ;-)!

  4. JES September 30, 2015 at 7:05 am #

Beautiful pictures Pat! Thank you for sharing the special event with us! 🙂

    • Pat September 30, 2015 at 11:33 am #

Thanks, JES…I can understand how grandparents often don’t realize they’re going a bit overboard with baby pictures… I have a LOT more that I could share with everyone…

But I’ll (try to) be careful about NOT overdoing it 😉

Guys, there is nothing on any list except survival.

Being terminal sucks, but the last two or three weeks have been worse than that.

    God is nonetheless good.

    • Pat September 30, 2015 at 11:39 am #

I always appreciate your comments – they often call me back to reality.
I”m so sorry the recent past has been a nightmare for you… But I have to say that the unexpected cancer diagnosis of a friend reminds me that we are all terminal. At least in the sense that none of us know when our end will come, only that it will.
Of course, I realize that you, and others with serious illnesses, have it more “in your face” than the rest of us.

Yes, at the end of the day, and through it all, I will agree with you that God is indeed good!

      You are in my prayers…
