Help for ADHD and ADD

Candy

Candy

Candy is a southern girl who enjoys the simple things in life. Dirt road drivin’, Sunday afternoon nappin’, back yard swingin’, and sunset watchin’ are a few of the things that make her smile. She’s been married to her best friend and the love of her life for almost 25 years and is navigating motherhood with her 4 children, aged 23, 19, 14, & 11. Homeschooling for over 18 years now, she is also a bit of a word-nerd (ok, maybe more than a “bit” – she actually considers making lists of homophones to be entertaining), a lover of books and chocolate, a survivor of cancer, an author, and a hula hoop maker.

Today’s post is from Cindy Harrell, a mom whose child suffered from the effects of ADHD. Cindy offers information about the research of Dr. Benjamin Feingold and his program, often referred to as the Feingold Program or the ADHD diet, and how she found help for her daughter. She welcomes your questions and feedback via email.

The Yard Sale

Pat

Pat is a Yankee city-girl who has been adopted by the sleepy, sunny south. Married for 30 years and the mother of 5, she woke up one day recently to discover she reached the stage of life where she is the “older woman” described in Titus 2:3-5. A coffee lover, the purchase of a coffee shop a few years ago was her personal foray into the small, family-owned business arena.Today, PatAndCandy.com is her outlet for packaging up and sharing the nuggets of wisdom God and life experiences have taught her.

Find me on

Recently our youngest daughters held a joint yard sale.  They’re saving money for Christmas and missions and who-knows-what… We both talked to the girls about how to price things, and what they could expect.  We talked about “cents on the dollar” and how to bargain and negotiate and when to “fold.” 😉 But at the […]

I know it’s hard to believe, but Christmas will soon be here!  And in our fast-paced society, it’s sometimes easy to rush through the holidays in a tangled mess of shopping, wrapping up/mailing gifts and then cleaning up the mess on December 26 in a mild state of shock and exhaustion.  Whew! I recently attended […]

When our kids were young, my husband always took it upon himself to pour the drinks at suppertime.  I was glad to get the help – with 5 children who range 17 years between youngest to oldest, mealtimes often got a little crazy.  Over the years we moved from the (occasional) bottle, to a sippy […]

In an age where morality is mocked and “anything goes” is the mantra that’s shouted to our children from every available media source, The Princess and the Kiss offers a wonderfully refreshing change of pace. In this beautifully illustrated book, Jennie Bishop tells the enchanting story of  a princess who is given a precious gift at the […]

Despite the fact that it’s still hotter than the devil’s toenails in South Georgia, the calendar says that autumn arrived yesterday! I have my Fall Bucket List in hand and can’t wait to start checkin’ things off. I’ve never made a bucket list before, so I’m pretty excited! I combined some of our favorite fall […]

I started reading out loud to my children over 20 years ago when my oldest son was so new to this world he couldn’t even hold up his sweet, fuzzy little head. Over the past couple of decades, I’ve read literally hundreds of thousands of pages to my children and enjoyed every minute of it. […]
