Greetings and welcome to Coffee and Conversation #152!   July 4th is just around the corner – what will YOU be celebrating this year? Coffee and Conversation #151 – Cheap Summer Activities

Candy

Candy

Candy is a southern girl who enjoys the simple things in life. Dirt road drivin’, Sunday afternoon nappin’, back yard swingin’, and sunset watchin’ are a few of the things that make her smile. She’s been married to her best friend and the love of her life for almost 25 years and is navigating motherhood with her 4 children, aged 23, 19, 14, & 11. Homeschooling for over 18 years now, she is also a bit of a word-nerd (ok, maybe more than a “bit” – she actually considers making lists of homophones to be entertaining), a lover of books and chocolate, a survivor of cancer, an author, and a hula hoop maker.

When I was a kid, Father’s Day meant crafting a handmade card and a simple cookout in the backyard. My dad never really wanted much; he always said he just wanted time with “his girls”. Over the years, […]

Wait, wait, I’m not talking revisionist history here, not about “taking sides” or rewriting it to suit our purposes…I’m talking about historical fiction. Many years ago I discovered this genre when I had a daughter who loved to read and was bored to tears with history. In that ever-seeking way that many of us homeschooling […]
