I am a Yankee city-girl who has been adopted by the sleepy, sunny south. Married for, um, almost 30 years and the mother of 5, I’ve recently discovered I’ve reached the stage of life where I am the “older woman” described in Titus 2:3,4.
I love coffee. So a few years ago, my husband and I bought a local coffee shop named The Brown Bean. It was my personal foray into the small, family-owned business arena. That experience stretched me to unimaginable (for me) lengths, and still influences much of what I do today. The coffee shop, sadly, has been shuttered, and currently PatAndCandy.com is my outlet for packaging up and sharing the nuggets of wisdom and life lessons both God and experiences like the coffee shop have taught me over the years.
What I am most passionate about, however, is encouraging both new and veteran homeschoolers in their efforts to create vibrant and fertile learning environments at home. I believe that the future of homeschooling is exciting, but due for a BIG change – and I’m so very excited to spread that message and method to other kindred spirits!
It will change the face of homeschooling in the coming century!
Although I find tons of pleasure spending time with my family and writing, one of my favorite pastimes is sitting down over “a cuppa” and spending time with Candy! We’re both glad to invite you to pull up a seat, pour you “acuppa” and spend some time with us!
